Everything Above The Setting Sun Songtext
Maybe I don't want to stay this way forever.
The time must come in every life
To accept that things weren't right to start with.
Maybe I don't want to stay awake forever.
If we can't carry on or come undone,
Then there is nothing left to do but die alone.

Every day I stay alive I'm losing something else.
The things we all refuse to find,
Are enough to set my weightless truths aside.
Every day I stay afraid I'm falling faster.
If we can't come to terms with who we are and where we go,
Then time will never spare our souls.

So as you search for hope in light, may the night fall where you are.
So as you search for hope in dark, may you be misled by the sun.
I will give up before you show me what it means to be saved.

What if I don't see this through in time to reach you,
Will my loss mean anything?
Or have I stayed too long to make clear my reasoning?
What if I can never place my faith in heaven?
Well what did you expect to find?
When you live your life in search of light,
You'll never make sense on your own.

So as you believe in light, may the night fall where you are.
So as you believe in dark, may you be misled by the sun.
I will give up before you show me what it means to be saved.
I will be gone before you find the will to keep me awake.
I will let go before you realize you are trying too late.

I'll see this through in time to keep our empty lives in their place.
I have lost everything I am. I will stay steady with my plan.
If I don't catch up with you in time:
Goodbye.
