That's Our Secret Songtext
You said, "Our love it will last forever -
at least until it starts getting dark."
That's how I knew that we belonged together
like a tornado and a trailer park.
That's our secret: it was our creed that the void that we shared
somehow meant that we cared.
That's our secret - we both agreed that true love was love ensnared.

You bet I don't need any diagram edged
in lace to tell me what's nature's law.
Watson could tell the both of us were damaged
so I could nestle inside your flaw.
That's our secret. Under the carpet there's not any room
so just put down that broom.
That's our secret: this little tar pit called love is love entombed.

We scorched the earth but it was worth it just to spend our wedding night
in the burning bed. (Oh, heaven help me!)
Don't touch that dial! Just check the file under uneasy listening, pop,
rock, and nameless dread.

"Trust me," I cooed as I dropped my glasses.
"Just put that apple back on your head."
Oh, heaven help me!

You ask me if I'm gonna share my feelings. (on top of old fogey - )
I say I haven't got a one to spare. (all covered in gray - )
That's why I'm staring up at the ceiling (my little pirogi lay!)
while both your legs are up in the air.
That's our secret: it was our creed that the void that we shared
somehow meant that we cared.
That's our secret: we both agreed that
true love was love from push to shove;
the velvet fist, the iron glove;
the stone below, the bars above; the proof that there is plenty of
that love is love ensnared.
