Old Maid Cards Songtext
Things are slow around here
So I grab my Old Maid cards and a bucket of beer
And I sit on the porch
Wondering what the hell I'm doing here

So my mom takes me to the store
She buys me an ice-pop so I wouldn't be bored
And I stare at the sky
Watch the ozone and think Al Gore
'Cause things change
But here they all stay the same
Jackie, well it's nice to see him
Soon my old bedroom will be a museum
From 1992
I would like that, wouldn't you?

Hop in the Army jeep
Talk with the neighbor, but this talk is cheap
So I draw on the pavement
The rain says it's nothing to keep

And the weather has gotten cold
So I'm forced to wear clothes from when I was 15 years old
Marching band sweaters
And boots that I never sold

'Cause things change
But here they all stay the same
Jackie, well it's nice to see him
Soon my old bedroom will be a museum
From 1992
I would like that, wouldn't you?

Now it is time for dinner
My mom fills my plate 'cause she thinks I look thinner
Stare at the TV
Watch the lotto and hope we're the winner

Now it is time for bed
So I pick up the guitar and write this song instead
Goodnight and good wishes
At least that's what my dad just said

So goodnight everybody
Good wishes like my dad just said
