Oklahoma Home Songtext
I was running ragged on a red-dirt road
Fighting heavy eyes, hundred miles to go
Roadside dive in the dark horizon
Reminding me of everywhere that I've gone wrong

But if I had a Miller and a cigarette
Bet that would be enough to make it to my bed
So I pulled off on Baker street
Walked into old Ray's and found my seat
Like a drunken answered prayer
Through the smoke and hazy air
Across the bar's a sight to see
Nowhere else I'd like to be
Those eyes put ties on a vagabond
Auburn hair and turquoise stone
Making me wanna call
Oklahoma home
Oklahoma home

Lived in OK county since 15
Could write a novel with all she's seen
Them plainsmen never treat her right
She swore 'em all off just the other night
And I've been running from what I never had

Like a drunken answered prayer
Through the smoke and hazy air
Across the bar's a sight to see
Nowhere else I'd like to be
Those eyes put ties on a vagabond
Auburn hair and turquoise stone
Making me wanna call
Oklahoma home
Oklahoma home

I was running ragged on a red-dirt road
Fighting heavy eyes, hundred miles to go

Like a drunken answered prayer
Through the smoke and hazy air
Across the bar's a sight to see
Nowhere else I'd like to be
Those eyes put ties on a vagabond
Auburn hair and turquoise stone
Making me wanna call
Oklahoma home
