And so begins the struggle.

Accept the challenge although

The odds are far to great to overcome.



I leave sorrow far behind.

I cast all fear into the wind.

Though shadow pain endures,

I lift my feet and carry on.



For on this black sunrise,

The strain of war shows on my weathered face.

Battered, cracked, and weary,

Clenched fists with calloused hands.
