Enemy Of The System Songtext
You used to hear a lot about him,
Threw it down and he made them listen.
He never cared a damn what the papers say.

But suddenly the scene he trusted
Turned him off, he got disgusted.
I heard He turned his back, I heard he walked away.

You see, he never played the victim,
And no one dared to contradict him.
At least they never said it to his face.

'79 in London town,
National front was going down.
The checkerboard army ruled from coast to coast.

Twenty years he carried that flag
From war to war, but what hurt him bad
He Found out people cared about the money most.

And all the vampires who call themselves fans
Were never able to understand,
He was just an enemy of the system.

Woah-oh enemy of the system...

Years go by, the man is gone,
In other worlds he soldiers on.
And they realise he's the one they miss the most.
Let's hear it from the fair-weather friends
Who knew him well, they like to pretend.
We all know that that's just an empty boast.

And when they write upon his stone,
There gonna have to say he did it on his own.
He was just an enemy of the system.

Enemy of the system.

Woah-oh enemy of the system...

And when they write upon his stone,
There gonna have to say he did it on his own.
He was just an enemy of the system.

Enemy of the system.
Enemy of the system.
Enemy of the system.
Enemy of the system.
Enemy of the system.
Enemy of the system.
