I wrote you a letter yesterday,
When my ear was to the floor.
I folded all the borders right,
Sliped it underneath your door.

I told you things I thought you knew,
So it shouldn't be a surprise.
I told you how I rise and fall,
With the sadness in your eyes.
But it's really something differant now
Behind your lock and key.
I beat the door with flailing fists,
There's something you should see.

I hold your letter in my hand,
From summer of this past year.
It seems like twenty years ago,
And i'm still a bit unclear.

In this you defined my life with you,
and diagrammed our plans.
You constructed hopes of you and me,
With the slightness of your hand.

So now I'm angry with a right to be,
and you try and change my mood.
But i've had enough of changing things,
I guess this means we're through.
Because you can't take me for who I am,
and it's all a waste of time.
You say "half full" I say "half empty",
A pesimist by design.
