Awkward Frame Upon Awkward Frame Songtext
Brutal Harmony and flashes of light
upon the grave of
the girl I once was
undulations of colour and sound
that leave with such melancholy
it steals the breath
For years I've waited
for just one heart to beat
in time with mine and
now, when I find that heart,
he finds himself unworthy
The people I find most beautiful
never know the beauty
in themselves
Like opaque mirrors
no image shows
only the outline of
that which I wish to own
This heart spits fire
like lips spit words
But the only words that ever
rain from my mouth
are words
of admiration
tales of violets
but our chilling silence sometimes
fills the spaces like
the distance between us
I find the deepest pride in
the colour of your eyes
This pride . . .I feel. . . for you. . .
screams through me
ripping through my lungs
expelling itself as divine silence. . .
a whisper of words
that sound
soemthing like
"You're perfect"
And you deny,
won't accept those words
You find scars
on your skin
that lay deep beneath
the layers I can see
I breathe these in
beause they are you
I speak now
in a voice unworthy of your ears
and say
"These scars are yours
and therefore are beautiful
becasuse you. . .
are beautiful"
Your eyes wide
like innocence
a thing I have lost
but not forgotten
a love I lost but have not forgotten
Your heart. . .I claim. . .as mine. . .
taking everything as
a cherished gift
Inner scars
no longer matter
Your voice makes it all worthwhile
Relinquishing these tired arms
to a place of rest
known as your own
Hoping you'll accept
Hoping you'll succumb
cos the words mean nothing
if I can't convince you
to let me find
your perfection
and then hold it to this heart,
still mending its broken wings,
so that I may
help you find it yourself. . .
this Heaven I found
in your eyes. . .
