A Thief I'm Not Songtext
It seems half of what I see
was only meant to be
for someone else
but it aint me
I don't believe in much fate
well maybe some of the time

Now the other half I found
while messing around
with my own intuition,
on my own steady ground
I work with what I will
and I work with what I've got

You know stealing is appealing,
but a thief I'm not

It seems half of what I find
is only for a peaceful mind
That I never wanted,
Is that such a crime?
I like to struggle in my day
well maybe some of the time

Now the other half I found
on someone else's ground
Right where it belongs,
Complacently sound
I work with what I will,
and I work with what I've got

You know stealing is appealing,
but a thief I'm not

Sometimes even steady ground
has the tendency to crumble
or so I've found
but maybe it's different
maybe this time
I'll find my own reflection
and we'll walk that line
