Wisdom Songtext
â??Wisdomâ? by Tony Chiri
I listen to the sounds of wisdom,
Your voice as the story is told,
I listen to your words for your words are the gift of the old,
As you tell me of your past,
Your memories and life,
I can picture everything you speak of,
From your childhood to your wife,
And as I listen I wish inside my head,
That I could keep your words of wisdom in a box underneath my bed,
I wish I could keep these words,
Keep the stories told,
For I have learned that wisdom is the gift of the old,
And this wisdom I speak of,
This wisdom you have told,
Is something very special,
More valuable than gold,
You have seen sights I only wish that I could see,
And you have heard voices only you can explain to me,
So as I sit here listening to the words coming from you,
I know that someday I'll tell stories too,
And as I tell my stories,
I too will have that gift that cannot be sold,
That very special gift,
More valuable than gold,
And it will be me who has the stories,
The stories that beg to be told,
I will have the stories and the wisdom of the old.
