Wet Your Wings Songtext
Trekked through the heartlands to the valley with only my aspirations to guide me. I watched the hills melt around me, and the air go stale. I can only think back so far. My hopes and dreams are in the tread marks I left miles behind me. I can only think back so far. My hopes and dreams are in the tread marks I left miles behind me.

And I know what it's like to let your soul out into open air, and then it rains. And I know what it's like to let your soul out into open air, and then it rains, and wets your wings.

Can't you just see me now? I've invented my own tragedy. A failed novelist with pen in hand, and clever repartee. You'll recognize me as the guy in the back of the bar, all dressed up in Southern Comfort and a suit of self-pity. They always told us our dreams were fire in the sky, and the sky was the limit. But now my gaze has come back down to the ground, where my soles are firmly planted.

But if we're stuck here, our dreams are staying with us. And by the time we're done, we'll leave this whole city on fire.

And I know what it's like to let your soul out into open air, and then it rains.
And I know what it's like to let your soul out into open air, and then it rains. And I know what it's like to let your soul out into open air, and then it rains, and wets your wings.
