Weekday at Bernie's Songtext
I found out why they fixed our wrists
and why we were running around the house
so, it's clear,
that I've had this fever

We were rolling down the hill in your backyard for hours
until the lightening bugs came out and swept us away

The sky was bright, orange and bitter
but I kept you in mind as I said,
how I could live in these bones and never dry out

While everyone's writing me letters about the beauty in my speech
it's just a miscommunication I'd like to explain,
but I'm stammered by your eyes and your speech

I wish I could stay, but I've got this horrible depression

So see us from the top of the hill accepting of gravity
it's as pretty as the pictures you took last fall,
from your window, I looked happy

That was the last time I felt anything
that was the last time I held somebodies hands thinking
I could hold these bones

These sober thoughts are not enough to make to make you feel the way we felt that April night
with your hands in mine

I found out why they fixed our wrists,
I was unconcious, like the life slowly leaving my eyes

We were rolling down the hill in your backyard for hours
until the lightening bugs came out and swept us away
