These Kinds of Friends Songtext
Will someone else win it for real?
Leaving me to figure out how to steal

If it's easier I guess I should be happy with a change of address
When I listen to the role of my ears
I really lose the sense that I'm still here
I hear it more than my own words
Yours are fading into mumbling blurbs

Heading down the sidewalk alone
Some pleasantries are not bad company
Some animals stop to say hello when they're hungry

Sometimes you can't quite work out for two
There are times when nobody can even choose

There's nothing that they could do
Whom I'm signed up for genius too
Like a cycle it kept happening
It paused at nine and then kept traveling
I can't be a promise made
We take a risk and see how it will play

Heading down the sidewalk alone
A finch is saying, "Hey, how's your family?"
It doesn't mean you have to be feeling lonely

I prefer these kinds of friends
One's that seize an opening
Heading down the sidewalk alone
The pleasantries are not bad company
Some animals stop to say hello when they're hungry
I'm no kind of philosopher
But it's funny how you have to look for happy
If you manage to have been on it, be sure to tell me
Please, tell me
