The Sky Songtext
This whole thing started, when I was young
If you could see now, what I've become
On a boat, in the sea, in your car, you followed me
In your bed, in your room, was too soon

We took to talking, to pass the hours
But soon felt different, in that sun shower
We both got in too deep, but the problem was, I was me
Metaphysically in the heart of the sea
I've put down my guard now, you've got my time
And your face looks so damn pretty, with your hair part to one side
But oh, it's too late now, you've waited much too long
It's not that I don't like you, I just don't want, I just don't want to be wrong

Oh, the sky looks like a field tonight and the stars are painted on the other side
I could swear I saw the moon, in that clock-faced puddle
Let's hold hands or something, anything to stop my arm from shaking
Just go ten percent, but I can't promise I won't leave you waiting

And you've been so good to me, but I've been so hard to read
And your eyes speak for themselves, but your feet move closer still
Every time you've touched me, I've found it hard to breathe
If the sky would open up, maybe I'd be brave enough
