The Black Dog Songtext
I'll drown them out now.
Sure remedy for a plight well known to Hanta.
My monotonous disaster.

I've tired of this frown.
Build me an ark to escape from this tempest,
Forge a life once the storm's ended.

They say:
"Pull yourself together boy!
Chin up, don't be sensational.
Who's died? be rational.
For Christ's sake.
What on earth's the matter boy!
Self-indulgence seen in one so young
It is not attractive, it is quite wrong."

He's not a doctor, he's just a quack
And his counsel sounds like mad-chat
Though I'm sure he is a bright man

I wear a awful smile
My masquerade that is something of a trial
I don't doubt I'm in denial.

They say:
"Pull yourself together boy!
Chin up, don't be sensational
Who's died? be rational
For Christ's sake.
What on earth's the matter boy!
Self-indulgence seen in one so young
It is not attractive, it is quite wrong."

The black dog grips me again
Each way I turn it's by my side
In my blood.
Written.

It's way too late now
Cracked bones remind me that I'm flawed
It's way too late now
In a million pieces on the floor.
