Something New Songtext

I get up in the morning, turn my sheets down and I find
A worn out tie-dye, corduroy,
Search my drawers for a necklace, it's hemp with a peace sign
Put on my Birkenstock sandals and I'm out the door


Go to my Jeep, put the top down
Radio blasting some Dave
"Gone Phishin'" sticker peeling off my windshield
Until I've got to where I'm going I know I've lost my way


I get up in the morning, a pounding in my head
I roll out of bed, my eyes are red
As I look in the mirror, a face I've never seen before looks back at me
But I can't see


Is it me, is it someone that I used to know?
Is it someone that I used to be all those days ago? Is it something that I just can't see?
Or is there someone in the mirror staring back at me?


I go out in the evening just to drink my fill, it's almost against my will
Another day, another kiss, another class I've gotta miss
Another hour I've gotta kill, got too much time to fill
Another night, another girl, another promise to her
Another trip around the world, another leg of the tour...


But maybe this'll be something new, going forward, trying to be true to myself
But oh well, my life could mean anything
