Slowing Down Songtext
My face is growing wrinkled now and my hands are feeling weak. They scan the digits so frequently that I'm too tired to speak. But If I could I would tell you of all the wrong I've seen. Yeah, it's no dream; I'm coming clean, and slowing down.

My body's sporting splinters and my inside's rusting shut. The moon no longer rises nor does the sun come up. The corner where I'm sitting is dusty, dark, and cold. My heart was stole; it's growing cold and slowing down.

Ding, ding, dong: wind me one last time. Sing this song and tell me I am fine. And if I'm wrong then give me a sign. If you keep my gearbox turning, I'll keep you right on time.

She hangs above me waiting; a weight I can't ignore: a mermaid from the depths of the darkest midnight shore. Sealed inside my sorrow, and yet sewn within my shame. Until that day, I will remain slowing down.
