Slow Down Songtext
When I slow down my music, I slow down my life
I`ll be slow on fame and fortune, but I`ll have my wife
It`s as simple as that, she made it real clear
If I don`t change the pace, she won`t be here

The spotlight caught her pretty face, for a wink of an eye
I was singing all the sad ones, she stood there and cried
She was a face in the crowd and I gave her my ring
But as time moved on, she wanted more
Than this travellin`life could bring

Refr.:

Slow down, slow down, you country singin`fool
Ain`t you tired of smokefilled dancehalls
And changin` strings in a motel room
Let that country road you`re singing of
Be the one that takes you home
All those miles and one nighters turned into a drag
What she wants is a homefire and no more songs by Hag
So I slow down my music and slow down my life
I`m slow on fame and fortune anyhow , but I`ll have my wife

Refr.:

Slow down, slow down, you country singin`fool
Ain`t you tired of smokefilled dancehalls
And changing strings in a motel room
Let that country road you`re singing of
Be the one that takes you home
