Incisions in the flesh, carving through the skin
Searching the intestines for
the tumor within
His body on the table, heavily anesthetized
Absent for a
second, while his bowels are sliced
A quick snap with the scalpel, the boil is
torn away
Gouges unnoticed, pus penetrates the veins
Sewing back together
the soulless carcass that remain
Unaware it is not over, everlasting pain


Subsequent treatment starting, hospitalized again
Weakened and discouraged,
his body over strained
The chemotherapy ripping essence from his
soul
Injections filled with toxins contaminates it all

A symbol of
paternity, degraded down to insufficiency
A cancer eating all his pride,
mental suffocation life in justified

Carving through the essence that fuels
us all
