It was foolish for me to think
That something was finally going my way
Now my faith in myself will sink
Until your smile again brightens my day

I've been jinxed into an unreasonable purgatory
But I must keep pushing along, this just can't be the end of my story

I've tried so hard
But my efforts seem to be in vain
I've been caught off guard
And my mind is filled with this recurring rain

It's still foolish but the thought remains
That a day will arrive with good fortune for me
And this hope will drive me insane
But my allegience to myself will still be
