Pushing A Piano Songtext
Well I hope that you are standing at your window
'cause I've traveled far from many miles away
and I'd like to sing a song to serenade you
but a piano is the only thing I play

so I'm pushing a piano down Delancey
'cause you can't get a piano on a train
and I'd do most anything so you can hear me sing
and I wish that you'll be waiting there for me
It may take some time so please don't give up on me
and it's hard to sing a tune to just a bell
This may be the only thing I have to offer
until they make a violin that plays itself

I'll be pushing a piano down Delancey
'cause you can't fit a piano on a bus
and I'd do most anything and I hope that you'd agree
A piano is the perfect sound for us

So if string swells could lead to wedding bells
or if your heart pounds for drums of ne'er -do-wells
I'll be what you want and bow, beat, strum in key
but it just wouldn't be me

How I hope that you are standing at your window
'cause I've travelled far from many miles away
and I'd like to sing a song to serenade you
but the piano is the only thing I play
so I am pushing a piano down Delancey
'cause you can't get a piano in a cab
and I'd do most anything and I hope that you can see
or I'll be pushing a piano for no one
