Perhaps, Wife Songtext
I was molested by an acrobat at eight ripe years of age.
And though I think about it often I can't recall his name.
The room was lined with mirrors as he held me down.
And now I still fear when The Circus comes to town.

Perhaps, I will get married to a woman with a job.
Then I won't have to worry about my giving up.
She would make the money and I would make her lunch.
She would beat our children and I would just give up.
Through all the trees and august plans; I forged an iron stake.
I wave it around in my hand but always plant it late.
And what I plan to build from this is standing in my town.
And I still get scared when The Circus comes around.

I look around this garden and all I see are graves.
I notice while I read them the inscriptions are the same;
They say that Sorrows feel like Happies when you are not alone.
And everyone is happy when they're underneath a stone.
