Nothing Hurts Songtext
maybe you grew up on a farm but went to finishing school
maybe you have never been to church and have no desire to
maybe your parents are minted but no money comes your way
maybe you only love the boats that never leave the bay

you say your life's been a disaster
and i can't make it better
but that's no excuse to think that i think

nothing hurts, i have nothing to forget
i've never seen sadness, i've never seen regret
so surely then you must also think
i have never seen love
but i think i see it concrete manifest before us

maybe you were raised in a barn cause your manners are pretty rough
but i don't care i don't judge
maybe you have never seen a mirror but you look really nice to me
and it is that simple this could be easy

but you seem so keen to suffer
with no plans to recover
but that's no excuse to think that i think

nothing hurts, i have nothing to forget
i've never seen sadness, i've never seen regret
so surely then you must also think
i have never seen love
but i think i see it concrete manifest before us
so i'm a bad judge of character
cause we don't need each other (oh i'm still alive)
but if you cannot see
our potential unity, you've got too many issues baby
you have no eyes or right to tell me

nothing hurts, i have nothing to forget
i've never seen sadness, i've never seen regret
so surely then you must also think
i have never seen love
but i think i see it concrete manifest before us

you are far too organised
unpassionate and petrified
is this what you had in mind?
is this what it is like when nothing hurts?

and nothing hurts, i have nothing to forget
i've never seen sadness, i've never seen regret
so surely then you must also think
i have never seen love
but i think i saw it once, unsafe then sorry before us
