Marty's Diary Songtext
Jimmy's still laughing as he sits beneath a tree,
Open's up the stolen rucksack, takes out Marty's Diary,
Flips through the tear soaked pages, thinks â??I'll have a little read,
While he's still in the bathroom trying to stem the bleed.

â??Dear Diary,
First day at new school today,
And I can't wait,
Supplementary:
I could have waited,
I've been and I hate it,
The girls don't like me,
The boys despise me!

... Saltwater blotted your pages again today.

Jimmy's still laughing as he sits beneath the tree,
Who in the world is this pathetic boy supposed to be?
Gathers his friends around him so they all can take a look,
At the lonely boy's dark confessions in Marty's private book.

â??Dear Diary,
Jimmy stole my money again today,
What the hell would my parents say?
Supplementary:
I have no hope,
Everyone's against me and I can't cope,
The girls tell me I'm ugly,
The boys, they all shove me.
... Saltwater blotted your pages again today.

Billy says, â??Did you punch him? And I want the truthâ?
Jimmy smiles and from his pocket he produces a tooth,
â??Of course,â? he laughed and passed it round, â??here is the proof!â?
â??When the headmaster finds out he'll hit the fucking roof!â?

â??Dear Diary,
Told the teacher I'd been punched in the head,
â??Don't go round telling tales' she said.
Supplementary:
Nobody in the world understands,
So I'll just take my life into my hands,
No one will miss me any way,
Things will just get worse if I stay,

... And I blotted your pages again today.

A shock shot through Jimmy like he'd been hit by a car,
â??Do you think, maybe, we went a little too far?â?
So Jimmy went to the bathroom to take a look,
And when he got home, wrote in his private book:

â??Dear Diary,
Had the worst day of my life today,
Started out as fun, just a game to play,
Didn't mean no real harm.
I was wrong, but I glanced in his diary,
And it opened my eyes, it made me see,
That this loser boy was, in fact, a human being,
I've been so cruel, I've been a fool, but now I am seeing,
In my mind I could hear his sobs, his yells and his cries,
Thought now was the time to be a man and apologise.
Went into the bathroom to call a truce,
And there I found Marty hanging from a noose.

... Saltwater just blotted your pages today.
