Light On Songtext
I remember the beams in the back yard about ye high just down the street on 72nd
Shouldn't have let me stay up so late and watch those "R" rated movies 'ause now I think I'm afraid of the dark
But that's okay 'cause I think about the day
And now every time one comes on I feel a little bit brave

How'd I go and make myself into a grownup>
I sure remember sayin' I don't wanna, wait
Can I really say I made myself a grownup?
[?] sleepin' with the light on
Can I really say I made myself a grownup?
I could prolly turn it off but I don't wanna

My younger days will fade away
Right as I age I seen your face
Some things still change
Some stay the same
That's why I do what I wanna
At night I'll sleep with the light on

I remember the glow in the dark stars at night in the top bunk and box fans in the window
Count from ten so, ready or not here I come
On the run, never done until we played out our hearts
I say 'cause I think about the day
Every time I feel lost I end up findin' my way

How'd I go and make myself into a grownup>
I sure remember sayin' I don't wanna, wait
Can I really say I made myself a grownup?
[?] sleepin' with the light on
Can I really say I made myself a grownup?
I could prolly turn it off but I don't wanna

My younger days will fade away
Right as I age I seen your face
Some things still change
Some stay the same
That's why I do what I wanna
At night I'll sleep with the light on

Ahh, I know how to find
Where it lies deep inside
There's a light on in time
In my mind
I know
Yeah, I know
I know

My younger days will fade away
Right as I age I seen your face
Some things still change
Some stay the same
That's why I do what I wanna
At night I'll sleep with the light on
