Indigo War, The Songtext
I stare at a polaroid impression of the girl I love. Her eyes are closed. She seems so close. Photographic fireworks explode behind her with golden strands almost touching her shoulder. I've got a handkerchief dressed in her perfume. She almost seems here. Almost. I can almost see the skylines of cities I've never seen. Lights spiraling around. It seems so far from the ground. And I can remember every moment of every goodbye we whispered today. Every teardrop. Every kiss. Everything. Its as close as this photograph. I'm so far away. We're young and in love, and a week seems so much more, but still... I feel like I'm going to war. I promised I'd live through this. I promised I'd come back. I've only just left. Stars fade into sunsets. This is our modern day time machine. I can almost see the skylines of cities I've never seen. I can't wait to get back to her. The sky is filled with rainbows and mnemonic devices. I have to remember that I is for indigo. The fireworks still seem just as close. I'm gone, but you haven't left me yet. I feel like I'm going to war. I tried my best to fight off bashful teardrops, and I'll try my best to fight this off. I promise. I'll come home from this war.
