Hit The Ground Running Songtext
White bike on the corner sleeps. Been there since last July. Light a candle every other week. Corner store sells them real cheap, so I say a prayer for a friend I never had.
In a city you'll never see 10 to 90, earth to sky. But there's ways of breaking boundries between buildings like a wreaking ball in my mind. This bike gives me peace they'll never have.

Take these meager offerings, tie them to a ship that's sinking.
These are not things I'm supposed to have.
Bind my wrists and send me sailing, tell me which BA I'm getting, I'll thank you when it comes time to look back.

CHORUS
You've taken my options so I'm taking what I've got. I'm taking what I've got.
Like leather shoes and 9 to 5's, an easy answer to the question why: because a god I don't believe in hates me. Years from now if I'm still alive will all the talking heads survive? I hope the leaders of this world don't outlive me.

Chorus

Let the credits roll, be satisfied you'll never know the ending. Hit the ground running, I'll ride off without you singing "why waste this time, I've got nothing to lose."
