Half Years Songtext
We ran the school yard in uniform
Hung out in the branches before we went home
Oh, send us a'rover through a field holding hands
And fall down together, bury our bodies in boxes of sand

With an Indian eye and a pellet gun
Struck bird on the rail when our half-years are gone
Skinned knees are strawberries, ripped from the earth and caked from the mud
Press our skin together with open wounds and mix up the blood
And it grows apart
Seemed impossible to let this happen

Then we dug in the dirt and the insects ran, we're flipping stones
We didn't seek that protection, our bodies were prone to breaking our bones
And they'll grow apart
Seemed impossible to let this happen

I wonder why, that we have turned
I wonder why, I wonder why
I wonder why, that we have turned
I wonder why, I wonder why...

And now that other parts have formed, in order
In order, let's use them what they're for, get over
Get over, come out, ting in, come come, and see this happen
