i stepped into the lazy night i thought the air could shed some light then climbing up to higher ground i almost nearly died the book i read means nothing now just foolish childhood clues to think i thought i knew a way that i could ever choose after all you said more than once i understood and the rest i was to close to really see do you know how time ever changed its stubborn mind and to everybody else it's clear to me but what if we're just standing there and what if we see feathers in the air? i took the night, for what night's worth and deep inside i felt rebirth from far and wide the logic came to catch me if it could and all the while i copped a smile and waited out through the storm and as rain fell i understood why everything lost its form all in all, i suppose there's a feeling that now grows from the shores of lakes to mountains and to plains "there go i", i cry, for at least i owe a try to the many who have left their marks in stains and suddenly i'm standing there and suddenly there's feathers everywhere i caught myself and all grew calm the air was cold, there was a song and dreamers cried and criers dreamed of the light that broke through the sky spinning sun burn bright and philosophers agree that the someone here had something to be said after all we've said after all the blood was shed for forgiveness and the hope that all be fed and maybe it's just circumstance and maybe it's a second chance and maybe it's the way you dance and maybe it's not feathers in the air
