Faces Songtext
here's a soul that appears everytime i walk past a mirror trapped in some solitude short of breath, never rude we go down everytime that i miss what's between the lines all the while counting on truth and illusion to collide, to abide many nights, many days it just feels like there's nothing to say sitting oh so still deep in concordance with a will, and this light that i want so much to be a likeness of harmony working your charms on me all the more it's the mood i deplore there's a face that i show when i grow tired and angry a face that i show you when i sing you a song a face that i put on so you'll say you admire me but the face i wear now says the feeling is gone then again, in the night i can write of the plight in acts staged out in tiny rooms arts and light soon do you know all the time that i've lost in this mind of mine sorting blank paragraphs and figuring numbers to the dime to encompass my time lately all i get is tired could you light me? turn my back against the fire 'cause it frightens me can you compfort me? and the face that i see is the face that reminds me that for all i still feel it's your face that is real though the face i wear now makes me look like i'm weary the soul that is masked carries on through the night
