Escape From The Orphanage Songtext
I broke out of the orphanage at the age of nine
After all those years of being treated like a swine
The porridge and the beatings and they never even had a TV

There was an old abandoned shack up at Wowbegon lake
I made it my own, I fixed up the leaks
I did it my way, I made a new start
Just me, my toy piano, and my pet bat, Bart

Surrounded the periphery with a trip wire
It rang a small bell if someone got too near
In which case, I would slip out through a trap door
'Cause I'm not gonna be enslaved any more

At night, I found go fishing, my big rock I would sit upon
Pondering the richness my new life had taken on
See, I've got all I need without monetary funds when the moonlight turns the surface of the water into diamonds

I've got all I need without monetary funds when the moonlight turns the surface of the water into diamonds
Water into diamonds
Water into diamonds
When the moonlight turns the surface of the water into diamonds

From the grates in the gutter I could fish most anything
All you really need's your trusty magnet on a string
When they asked me "How you gonna earn your bread and butter?"
I'd say "Nothing's fresh as milk drank straight from the udder"

Should I have an ocean to jump in the ocean
Ain't nobody's business if I do

Water into diamonds
Water into diamonds
Water into diamonds
Water into diamonds
When the moodlight turns the surface of the water into diamonds

Fire is free and so is the sun
And so are the fish and so is this one
