Broken Toy Airplanes
I remember when I was able to pretendI was a soldier in my old backyardI was only 9 or 10 but I was climbing over fencesJust in case I had to join the warAs the enemies got closer I started moving slowerBut then I saw them heading toward the parkWith a tree branch on my back, I was ready to attack 'emJust as long as I was home by darkI know I'm not as small as I once wasBut I still can play in the rain with my broken toy airplanesI remember back when the water always attackedMy many sandcastles along the shoreEach and every time I see them getting swallowed by the seaI'd grab my goggles and we'd go to warWith my shovel and my pail I lived the never ending taleOf how I made the ocean dance and roarWhile I was battling my foe I thought that it was time to goBut we didn't have to leave 'til 4Now that I'm older, I'm not having that much funI'm not a soldier and my curfew is far past oneI can stay out past dark and stay afloat at seaI may be taller but that doesn't change a thingI know I'm not as small as I once wasBut I still can play in the rain with my broken toy airplanes Aus Songtexte Mania
