INTRO: (The french horn and the oboe roughly articulate the vocal melody.) (The guitar & violin parts form an instrumental representation of this composition's two tragedians.) VERSE 1: Those days when we were young. Came flooding back like a dream... It was oh.., so long ago. Ah... We were barely teens... The world was a bright and beautiful place. That lay beyond the next bend... Together we both lived for now. And went on and on without end...... BREAK A: (Echoes theme of verse 1.) VERSE 2: It is often said, once friend is a friend, is a friend, is a friend, is a friend. But in your eyes.., I realised... You could be much more than... VERSE 4: (Spoken/sung in a grief-stricken and tremulous semi-whisper.) So now you're gone. And it won't be long. Before I depart, this scene. I can't bear to live. With a grief this strong.
