I hear the words Viet Nam
every four years or so
and just once I'd like to hear someone say
that he just didn't want to go
some fought and died
others stayed and lied
some pretend to cry
on election day
I tried like hell to stay away
but I didn't know anyone
I was 19 and even better....unemployed
perfect to carry a gun
I shot to kill
the other man's will
I think about it still
on election day
