Austerity comes at our expense
while trickle down theory came and went
And the only thing that trickled down
was shit and piss.
We're not prosperity bound
There is something about boot-strapism
that fails to address the inherent division
of capital and labor and their historic opposition.
This motherfucker has never been anything
but a playground for the rich
and I'd like to live to see the day when they're all lined up,
face down,
in a ditch.
Yet, my streets are never as hard as occupied Palestine
or the Afghan countryside
pockmarked by imperial land mines.
But someday friends,
we'll march in the streets.
We'll inherent the earth but we won't be the meek.
