Winter, Withdraw
At the black center of my thoughts I plead “Winter, withdraw,” and I decide I’ll boldly no longer feel the deep cold I’ll only look to you Do you even look at me? What would we even beif not a part of this city? Entangled in deep tunnels that lead To the deadbolt lock of our hovering box The light refracted again and again With the brightest tension The fifth dimension folded back With loaded guns revealed its pact and pointed down Vowed we’d dance So holding breath and holding hands Its splitting breadth and scathing rants That pull and stretch at what we’d deepened And when all that we built threatens to spill In a puddle on the tracks, sleepy stranger staring Back What a clumsy refraction What an awkward expansion Quite a sight tobe seen when what you were expecting A girl of nine reflected Placed a skirt upon her head and Said, “Now a woman I’ll Precede Flowing hair, flow behind me From the glowing inside Through the growing divide Will you please provide a cloudy feeling I can ride?"
