The crowd's gaping and cheering For flowers, mystically appearing As the wagon train arrives in town Heralded by a red haired clown A little girl's leading the procession With move's making strong impression She's raising the mace in her hand And that's the cue For the band La la la lala la At dawn the circus has gone But it's spirit Its spirit lingers on As the circus tent's magically erected And the common rush's slowly abated The directress leads off the show Trapeze artists appearing in a glow An illusionist's enchanting all the ladies A beauty queen's taming beasts of Hades And the audience is going wild As the band plays beguiled The stallion is dancing in masculine pride With cat and dog mounted for a mad ride And a pigeon enthroned on the crest They're acting the tale of “Sophie's Quest” Aus Songtexte Mania
