Standing around a grave, chanting lines from a pageIt's the mourning denial, an age-old recitalThe fear of uncertain fateAn ember falls from the sky, foreshadowing our demiseIt's happened before, the fables ignoredA subject most vital, and why he has sacrificedWhy is the death required, to turn a flame into fire?A radiating forceA memory adornedAt last, he was admiredWe lower him into the groundPour dirt on his furrowed browThe procession recedes, some fall to their kneesblaming the gods for a loss that they have foundWe will find... Sacrifice!We will find... blinding light!You know I tried so hard to find the fire in all of usAnd now I rise to heaven aboveAscension absolves none of us
