Driving You Home Songtext
I'll step into my daddy's car and we'll call it our own
Could it be that we've stolen a world of control and we're finally alone
Throw that map out the window
we can draw one that's our's,
and perhaps then we'll see what it means to be free from these conventional bars
We need to act on this hunger before we're full grown,
and this fiery desire that burns in my head as I'm driving you home
Society's fluid now; here we are in our boat
navigating the hollowness that keeps us afloat
And my passion, it's sailing sweet uncharted seas
what they said to ignore, and I listened before, is bubbling with ease
And I think we're transcending every boundary I know
White picket fences rush by us like water as I'm driving you home
But this freedom it's limited by the chains of our course,
and the comfort of momma's voice is a powerful force
And your house creeps up quickly now, as forlorn as a cell
Though our time here's been short in this young naive fort; we sure spent it well
As the seasons grow colder and this heat leaves my bones,
my tears and my sweat stay warm with a vision of you driving me home
