Calling Today Songtext
I used to pray I could turn back the stopwatch of time,
Avoid the sad mistakes I've made, avoid so much bad feeling.
I wish I could do it all again.
So many things I'd change about the ways I find so appealing.

Seems so easy for people to progress,
Move on from a dark sad past to the bright light.
But I stay here trapped within darkness.
Strike a match to shine within- it just burns my pillow.
And now I've made up my mind, I'm leaving today,
I'm changing my ways; these pleas to just stay don't appeal any longer.
I'm well on my way; these boots need to stray;
Nothing you can say will make me feel stronger,
Now I turned to say, ?thanks for calling today!?

Another lonely tear fallen, from this weary eye,
Another memory disappears, lost within my meaning.
Could never understand why I held your attention.
Can't seem to shift the thought away of holding you so closely.

Were they only lies? Those dreams, planted in my heart.
Were they fables or fantasies? Childhood dreams or fairytale?
And now I take a look at myself, shit, I'm no Prince Charming!
What right do I have to figure in your fairy princess dream?

And now I've made up my mind, I'm leaving today,
I'm changing my ways; these pleas to just stay don't appeal any longer.
I'm well on my way; these boots need to stray;
Nothing you can say will make me feel stronger,
Now I turned to say, ?thanks for calling today!?

Need to just hang up, forget what you said then.
Shake that fragment of memory from this head, blustery!

And now I've made up my mind, I'm leaving today,
I'm changing my ways; these pleas to just stay don't appeal any longer.

I'm well on my way; these boots need to stray;
Nothing you can say will make me feel stronger,
Now I turned to say, ?thanks for calling today!?
