Physics ended and I wondered how everyone could just walk out of the classroom. No cure was found. No scientist was staying up all night, mixing colors beneath a red light... He wasn't the one dieing, but what if he were? Yet everyone folded their textbooks, pushed in their chairs, and set out into the corridors, smiling, they didn't care.

The night ended and I questioned how all those people could just flee the scene. No girl was found. No detective was staying behind, with just a hunch and a flashlight. He wasn't missing, but what if he were? Yet everyone called it a night, headed to their vans and shut off the lights, set out onto icy roads, saying, 'I hope she comes home'

Twenty years ended and I watched them just walk away, how could they? No compromise found. Neither one of them was losing sleep, in an attempt to keep this fire going. They weren't missing each other. They packed up their belongings, took back everything they said, and set out into the world, emotionless, they slept in separate beds.

So tonight as I'm sitting here, it's 3 am but I'm looking for the cure, to save that little girl. And if true love ends, then where are we headed? If two can't be commited to the same cause... I'm just so lost. And maybe I'm the only one that cares anymore and that's fine... I'll hold out for miracles, I'll be a hopeless romantic even if that makes me a fool... I'll keep looking for the answers, I'll keep challenging the rules, and while you're fast asleep, you can rest your head on the fact, that someone, somewhere is bringing hope back.
